  1. I really enjoyed reading this post. You made a great point about the carnivalisation of violence in Tarantino’s films and its problematisation in pieces like Precious. It made me think of the way violence is tackled in war poetry and prose: the images are gruesome, often unbearable even, but they serve a purpose other than the reaffirmation of white male domination under veils of heroism (though some of them do, of course…). Thank you for sharing your thoughts! And well… Tarantino can also be quite hilarious, which is always a plus ^^
